Description: The Mexico Unemployment Rate measures the share of the labor force that is unemployed and actively seeking work, based on data compiled by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). It is one of the main indicators used to evaluate labor market conditions, employment availability, and the degree of slack in the Mexican economy. This series is useful for tracking changes in job market strength over time, helping identify periods of labor market deterioration or improvement. A rising unemployment rate may signal weaker economic activity and reduced labor demand, while a falling rate may indicate stronger employment conditions and tighter labor markets.
