Description: Mexico Retail Sales measures the real value of retail trade activity in Mexico, based on data from the Monthly Survey of Commercial Enterprises compiled by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). The series is shown as a seasonally adjusted index, with 2018 = 100, allowing for clearer month-to-month comparisons by removing recurring seasonal and calendar effects. This indicator is useful for tracking household consumption dynamics, domestic demand, and short-term changes in consumer spending behavior. As retail sales are closely linked to income, employment, credit conditions, and inflation, the series provides an important signal of the strength or weakness of Mexico’s internal market.
